Recently, I heard a keynote by Howard Fuller, my mentor and the most tireless advocate for education and champion of justice, equality, and liberty I’ve ever seen. He was the speaker at a retreat I attended, and, as always, he delivered a barn burner of insights. His message, drawing from Paulo Freire's belief that education should empower the youth to practice freedom, resonated deeply with my experiences in the realm of educational advocacy and nonprofit work.
